The Subject The reviewed book was picked up and perused in an endeavour to obtain more detailed information on the Mig 21 that I am building at the moment. After scanning the first 5-10 pages I was unable to put it down, and subsequently purchased it along with another reference book on the Mig 21 that you will find reviewed elsewhere on this site. The subject matter covered were photographed between, as far as I could ascertain, 1990 and 1995. Aircraft covered include the L-29, L-39(C, ZA & MS), Mig-21(U,UM,R,MA & MF), Mig-23( U,BN,MF & ML), Mig-29, Su-22 (M4), Su-25 (K), Mi-24 ( D & V), Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-2 and the An-26. As the title name suggests, the book covers all nose arts and commemorative paint schemes, with all the aircraft being covered by a number of photo views and at least 4-6 pages dedicated to each aircraft type, with the exception of the An-26 which is covered by only 1 page at the rear of the book. |
| The nose art subjects of the Czech Air Force are as varied as their aircraft. Everything from sharks, tigers, eagles, demons to scantily clad women. There are also photos of a "mascot" car, a Trabant , that is in full tiger stripes that belonged to the 1st Sqdn, 11th Fighter Regiment in Zatec that flew Mig-29s. Unfortunately, service of the Mig-29 aircraft was ceased by the Czech Air Force in July, 1994 but the record was kept with some excellent photos. |

Conclusion
For anyone interested in modern day eastern bloc fast jests and helicopters, as well as spectacular nose arts and paint schemes, this is the book for you.!! For all you small scale modellers out there, try doing the Mig-23ML in grey tiger stripes whose photo appears below in 144th scale. |

Not much written literature is supplied , but excellent reference photography and aircraft subjects. Very Highly Recommended. |
