cosa fai nella vita e per dire i tuoi pregi.........ed i tuoi difetti
Attualmente sto lavorando come professore di Chimica all'Università.
Scelgo questo per far contenta mia madre (che Dio la benedica) anche
se trovo più soddisfazione nelle attività manuali, ma
ho qualche agevolazione durante i miei studi. Lavoro velocemente (qualità)
e c'è qualche difetto..
Il modellismo: cosa ha acceso la tua
passione?
Vecchi kit Airfix e Heller costruiti a 10 anni
Scala preferita?
1/48 per gli aerei e 1/35 per i carri ma non è restrittivo, è
statistica !!!
Periodo preferito?
Seconda guerra mondiale
Forza aerea o Esercito preferiti?
No

Cosa ti piace fare quando fai un modello
e cosa odi fare quando fai un modello?
Mi piace molto dipingere, stuccare e rifare pannellature è
meno interessante.
Quanto impieghi per costruire un modello?
Dipende da quello che voglio fare, ma generalmente divento nervoso
dopo aver lavorato sullo stesso modello per 2 mesi...
Quanto piacciono i concorsi a Jean-Baptiste
Verlhac?
Per quello che sono: una buona opportunità per vedere i lavoti
di altre persone, discutere ed anche gratificare il mio ego (qualche
volta....)
Ed i club?
No
Vino rosso o vino bianco?
Entrambe di Bordeaux naturalmente (spumanti da Champagne sono tollerati)
Carne o pesce?
La mia risposta è la stessa di sopra e sono capace di bere
un pò di vino rosso con il pesce.
Eliche o jet?
Eliche naturalmente, gli altri assomigliano a missili
Sappiamo che sei un modellista a 360°,
preferisci aerei o carri?
Dipende dal periodo della mia vita , attualmente costruisco più
carri poichè è più facile sprerimentare nuove tecniche
di pittura, ma mi piace anche la forma degli aerei (e mia moglie preferisce
gli aerei).
Ti piace più camminare in campagna
o leggere sulla tua poltrona sorseggiando un buon bicchiere di Cognac?
Difficile dare una risposta, sono entrambe piacevoli
Hai viaggiato molto?
Ho viaggiato molto, ma ora sono un pò più tranquillo
anche se mi piace ancora visitare altri Paesi ed incontrare gente che
parla non solo di modellismo...
So che hai fatto concorsi all'estero,
principali differenze tra la maniera francese di concepire il modellismo
e le altre?
Il problema è che in Francia io posso capire quello che la gente
bisbiglia al riguardo dei modelli, spesso sono critiche e veramente
non amo molto queste critiche sistematiche tipiche dei Francesi.
Esiste per te una scuola di modellismo
Francese o no, è più accurata nella ricerca storica, nel
dettaglio o nel dipingere?
Il modellismo in Francia è come quello in UK , molte persone
si concentrano sulla costruzione e sulla cura del dettaglio storico.
Per cui non c'é una scuola di pittura come potrebbe esistere
in Giappone o Spagna. Per chi è interessato di modellismo sembra
che la scuola che ha prevalso in questi anni sia la scuola dell'IPMS,
più ore passi sul modello meglio...
Il modellismo in Italia vacilla, pochi modellisti giovani e lestesse
vecchie facce, ma probabilmente è un malanno passeggero che dura
da circa 20 anni. E' così anche in Francia o il modellismo è
più vitale?
La vitalità di un hobby può essere stimata dalla sezione
"junior", e penso che la situazione in Francia sia molto simile
a quella in Italia e nel rest del mondo, ma è nostro compito
attrarli verso questo hobby.
Due o tre nomi di giovani ed emergenti
modellisti in Francia?
E' una domanda difficile e preferisco rispondere alla domanda "
quali sono i modellisti Francesi che ti piacciono?": Gilles Peiffer
naturalmente, Jean-Phillippe Uhring, Franck Bazin perchè non
sono mai soddisfatti e cercano sempre di migliorare le loro tecniche.
Sarebbe opportuno costruire più
musei di guerra per le nuove generazioni?
Se non chiudessero alle 16 e di lunedì e durante gli scioperi
e così via.......
Quanta importanza hanno per Jean-Baptiste
Verlhac le associazioni per il recupero ed il restauro dei velivoli
storici?
Molto, sono testimonianze. Mio nonno ha combattuto durante la WWI (aveva
18 anni durante la battaglia di Verdun) ed è stato prigioniero
come altri soldati Francesi nel '40 , conservo le medaglie che guadagnò
in guerra.
Quale abilità ti piacerebbe

Troppe...
Probabilmente una domanda che le persone
ti hanno fatto un milione di volte, ma io ho la mia idea e voglio essere
il milionesimo ed uno. Adoro i tuoi modelli, l'accuratezza e lo studio,
ma per Jean-Baptiste Verlhac la replica di un vecchio e rugginoso relitto
è amore verso cose che "furono guerrieri" o una sfida
per fare qualcosa che si avvicini il più possibile alla realtà?
E' vero che io costruisco molti relitti o relitti di aeroplani/carri.
Sì subisco il fascino di questi soggetti perché raccontano
storie di quello che un tempo furono. Nello steso tempo, la costruzione
e la pittura sono sicuramente una piccola sfida.
Modellismo: hobby da "ricchi"
o accessibile anche a chi non ha molto da spendere?
No! ti puoi divertire senza usare tanti articoli di aftermarket. La
sola spesa grande richiesta è l'acquisto dell'aerografo e del
compressore ma il prezzo è spesso identico a quello di una console
per video game.
Quanto è importante per Jean-Baptiste
Verlhac in un progetto modellistico la documentazione storica?
Mi interesso di storia in generale ma non in dettaglio tipo l'unità
coinvolta etc. Ma devo ammettere che una buona ricerca è importante
per poter prevenire grandi errori concernenti la localizzazione delle
unità.
Quanto l'abilità manuale?
Molto importante
Con l'abilità si può
sopperire a carenze di documentazione nella realizzazione di un modello?
Solo se la ditta produttrice ha fatto un modello decente.
Con una perfetta documentazione si può sopperire alla mancanza
di abilità?

I'm currently working as a professor of Chemistry at the University.
Choose this in order to please my mother (may God bless her) as I really
get more satisfaction in manual occupation but I've some facilities
during my studies. I'm working fast (quality) there is some flaws..

Modelling: what situation fired up
the passion?
Old Airfix and Heller kits built when I was 10
Preferred scale?
1/48 for planes and 1/35 for armours but this is not restrictive, that's
statistical !!!

What you like to do making a model
and what you hate to do making a model?
I really enjoy painting, sanding and engraving are less interesting.
How many time do you need to build
a model?
It depends on what you want to do but generally I become nervous
after being working on a model for 2 months...
How much Jean-Baptiste Verlhac likes
contests?
As they are: good opportunity to see other people work in real,
to discuss and also to satisfy my ego (sometimes....)
And modelling club?
No
Red wine or white wine?
Both and from Bordeaux of course (sparkling wine from Champagne
are tolerated)
Meat or fish?
My reply will be the same as above and I can drink some red wine
with fish.
Propellers or jet?
Propellers for sure the other ones look like rockets
We know that you are a 360° modeller,
so you prefer aircrafts or tanks?
It depends on the period of my life , actually I'm building more
tanks because it's easier to experiment new painting techniques but
I like the plane shape (and my wife really prefers them)
Do you like more walking in the country
or reading on your armchair with a good glass of Cognac?
Difficult to answer as both are pleasant
Did you travel a lot?
I've travelled a lot but now I'm a little bit more quiet but still
enjoy visiting other countries and meet people that do not think link
me...
I know that you made contests abroad,
the principal differences about the modelling French way and the other?
The problem is that in France I can understand what people are saying
very low about the models and that's often critics and really I don't
like this typical French systematic critics.
It exists for you a French modelling
school or not, it is more accurate in the historical research, detailing
or painting?
Modelling in France is a little bit like in the UK , lot of people focuses
on the construction and the accuracy in detail and history. So I'll
say that there is not a school of painting as it could exist in Japan
or Spain. People are interest In modelling it seems that the school
that has prevailed since many years was the IPMS school, the more hours
you spend on a model the better...
Modelling in Italy is in troubles, few young modellers and the same
old faces, but probably it is only a passing disease that lasts from
about 20 years. It's the same in France or modelling has more vitality?
Vitality of a hobby can be estimated by the junior section , and I guess
that situation in France is almost the same as in Italy and the rest
of the world, but that's our job to attract them to this hobby

modellers in France?
That's a difficult question but I prefer reply to the question "
which are the French modellers you like": I'll say Gilles Peiffer
of course, Jean-Phillippe Uhring, Franck Bazin because they are never
satisfied and always try to improve their techniques

If they not close at 16h and on Monday and during strikes etc.......
How important are for Jean-Baptiste
Verlhac the associations for the recover and the restoration of historical
aircrafts?
Great job, that's testimony, My grand father fought during WWI (he was
18 during Verdun's Battle) and has been a prisoner like many French
soldiers in 1940 , I'm happy to keep the medals he received.

I'm not jealous...

Probably a question that people made
one million times to you, but I have my idea and I want to be the million
and one. I love your models, the accuracy and study you put on them,
but for Jean-Baptiste Verlhac a replica of an old and rusty wreck is
love toward things "once were warriors" or challenge to make
something as real as reality?
It's true that I build many wrecks or wrecked airplanes/tanks. Yes I've
a sort of fascination for these subjects because they tell the story
of what they are. Furthermore the construction and the painting is a
little bit challenging.
Modelling: a hobby for reach people
or even reasonable for the guys with few money in the pocket?
No You can have fun even without using a lot of expensive aftermarket
items. The only expensive material required is the airbrush and the
compressor but the price is almost identical to a video game console

Verlhac the historical documentation in a modelling project?
I'm interested in history in general but not on the details such as
units involved etc. But I must admit that a good research is important
in order to prevent from doing big mistakes concerning units localisation.
How much the hand skill?
Very important

Only if the manufacturer has made a decent model.

Too many. But actually I'm focusing on Pz38 chassis vehicles (Grille
