Questo è il settimo titolo nella serie Special ed il primo di Marco Mattioli dedicato ad un soggetto tra i più enigmatici, riferito a passione modellistica, tra gli aerei che hanno prestato servizio nell' Aeronautica Italiana. Sicuramente il lavoro di Mattioli è stato lungo e paziente permettendogli di realizzare sicuramente il libro più corposo, in termini storici, di tutta la collana ed anche uno tra i più belli. Le informazioni provengono sicuramente da fonti ufficiali dando la possibilità all'autore di fornire una grande quantità di resoconti operativi . Il libro si avvale di una buona ed abbondante sezione fotografica. La parte dedicata al modellismo è curata dal nostro vecchio amico Maurizio Di Terlizzi che anche questa volta ci stupisce con un bellissimo modello ed undici pagine di testo di consigli passo dopo passo. I profili di Gian Piero Pino sono molto ben realizzati e sicuramente stimolano la fantasia modellistica.

The book

This is the seventh title in the Special Series and the
first by Marco Mattioli dedicated to a subject one of the more enigmatic, referred to the modelling passion, aircraft that have been in service in the Aeronautica Italiana. The Mattioli's work have been for sure long and patient allowing to him to realize the most full-bodied book, in historical terms, of the Series and also for me one of the most beautiful. The informations certainly came from official sources giving to the author the possibility to supply a great quantity of operational records. All the book shows a good and large photographic section. The modeling part of the volume is performed by our old friend Maurizio Di Terlizzi that also this time amazes us with a very beautiful model and eleven pages of step by step suggestions. All the profiles by Gian Piero Pino are very well realised and they stimulate for sure the modeling fantasy.

Conclusione

Sicuramente un ottimo lavoro che consolida la validità della collana e sicuramente un libro che non deve mancare a chi vuol realizzare un bel P-39 "in Italian Service".

This book is really an excellent work that cansolidate the soudness of the Series and is a volume that can't be missed for the modeler that want to build a beautiful P-39 "in Italian Service".
