Reggiane RE 2006, Una storia vera di Alessandro Barteletti è quanto di più completo sia stato pubblicato sino ad oggi sul caccia che, nel corso della seconda guerra mondiale, doveva rappresentare l’arma segreta italiana  in campo aeronautico. Il libro è nato dopo il ritrovamento di un disegno sinora sconosciuto rimasto custodito, e protetto, in una cartella sbagliata per anni. A trovarlo è stato Alessandro Barteletti, l’autore. Quel disegno ha dato il via alle ricerche che hanno portato alla stesura di Reggiane RE 2006, Una storia vera. Il Reggiane RE 2006 doveva essere un aereo “monstre”. Un caccia nato intorno al potente motore Daimler Benz DB. 603 12 cilindri, capace di sviluppare una potenza di 1750 CV. Progettato nel 1943, scampato al bombardamento delle Industrie Reggiane di Reggio Emilia, trasferito in una palestra di Correggio dove, in incognito, un gruppo di tecnici ha portato avanti la costruzione del prototipo riuscendo anche ad evitare la sua distruzione da parte dei partigiani. Un aereo protagonista, infine, di un difficile, pericoloso e insolito viaggio – per un velivolo – duecento chilometri via terra, da Correggio a Taliedo. Una storia rocambolesca, coinvolgente ma assolutamente vera, come recita il titolo. Una storia ricostruita grazie ad una attenta e precisa ricerca che ha impegnato l’autore per oltre sedici mesi. La tecnica utilizzata è stata quella dell’inchiesta giornalistica. L’autore ha consultato archivi, biblioteche. Ha cercato e trovato testimoni oculari che quell’aereo lo hanno visto e toccato. Il libro è diviso in sei capitoli dedicati alla storia, alla tecnica, alle versioni (rimaste in fase di progetto), alle “vicissitudini” italiana del motore DB. 603, ai concorrenti del RE 2006. L’ultimo capitolo è dedicato al modellismo. Il volume è poi arricchito da un’appendice dove è riportato un  estratto delle direttive emanate nel 1943 dallo Stato Maggiore della Regia Aeronautica per la costruzione dei nuovi prototipi. Un libro elegante nella veste grafica, che dà il via ad una nuova collana dell’editore IBN denominata “Dossier”. Un volume composto da 128 pagine con oltre 50 foto in bianco e nero e a colori, 15 disegni fra trittici, spaccati, esplosi e profili, e la riproduzione di rari documenti dell’epoca. Molte foto e disegni, oltre ad essere originali, sono assolutamente inediti. Un testo completo e unico, non solo dal punto di vista storico, ma anche da quello iconografico. Un libro scritto con stile semplice e coinvolgente, di sicuro interesse per l’appassionato, ma non solo. Reggiane RE 2006, Una storia vera by Alessandro Barteletti is the ultimate book published till today about the fighter that, during the second world war II, had to be the secret Italian weapon in the aeronautic section. The book was born after the discovery of a unknown drawing, preserved and protected in a wrong folder. The author was the man who found that drawing. This recovery was the starting point of the researches that led to the Reggiane RE 2006, Una storia vera publishing. The Reggiane RE 2006 should have been a "monstre" aircraft. A fighter born around the powerful engine Daimler Benz DB. 603 12 cylinders with a 1750 HP power. Projected in the 1943, safe after the bombing of the Reggiane Industry in Reggio Emilia, moved into a gymnasium at Correggio, where a group of specialized technicians made the construction of the prototype avoiding also the demolition of the aircraft by the partisans. An aircraft who made, at last, a difficult and dangerous trip - for an aircraft - of about 200 km by surface from Correggio to Taliedo. An unbelievable, but true story, as the title tells. A story assembled with a capillary research last 16 months. The technique used was the one related to the journalism. The author have consulted archives and bibliotheca. He searched and found eye witness that saw and touched that plane. The book has six chapters dedicated to the history., to the versions (never ended, kept as projects), to the Italian events of the DB 603 engine, to the opponent of the RE 2006. Last chapter is dedicated to modeling. The volume has besides an appendix where is reported a synopsis of the directions made in 1943 by the Stato Maggiore della Regia Aeronautica for the construction of the new prototypes. A volume made by 128 pages with over 50 images in black & white and color print, 15 drawings and the reproduction of the documents of that period. A lot of images are original and never published. A complete and unique text, by historical point of view. A book written with a simple and involving style, with a sure interest for the amateur. A book that tell about an aircraft and some men also that made history.
